A must have for Newborn Photographers! This bundle includes our Build a Nightstand/Alarm Clock Stump Kit, Build a 2016 Wall Calendar Kit, Build a Hanging Chalkboard Kit and our Teddy Bear Slippers Variety Pack. With this bundle you can create a tasteful image with a woodland feel that naturally displays all of your tiniest clients birth statistics. Pop in an alarm clock on a mini nightstand, that displays the baby’s time of birth, next to your newborn bed. Then add a calendar, that perfectly matches your set and has the day the baby was born circled, over the bed. Hang a chalkboard, displaying baby’s name, height and weight on the corner of the bed. Then finish it off by tucking tiny matching bunny slippers under the bed. The ability to customize patterns and colors will allow you to offer your new ‘Newborn Stats’ set in any color combination. This image is a huge seller in my studio! New parents go crazy for it. The fact that you offer this shot might just be the reason your client chooses YOU to photograph their new pride and joy.
The 2016 Build a Wall Calendar Kit includes a combination of .jpg and .png files and include everything you need to make a customized hanging wall calendar, perfect to add to the background of a newborn photo to show the day they were born. To use the kit, open a new file in PS in the desired size. Use the rectangle tool to create a rectangle in the desired color. Add one of the pattern overlays to your rectangle and re-size it to fit your rectangle. The pattern overlays come in white but can easily be changed to a color of your choice. To do this hold down the control key and click on the layer (click on the first square) in the layers panel to select the pattern, then open a new layer and use your paint bucket in the desired color to fill the selected area. Drag in the desired month, and then the desired date marker. Re-size the marker and place it over the date you want marked. Drag in a nail and place it at the top of the calendar to hang it on the wall. Save your calendar as either .jpg or .png. Open up the image that you want to use the calendar in and drag your calendar into it. Use levels, brightness, exposure or curves to make sure your calendar isn't brighter than the wall it's hanging on. Add a shadow layer beneath the calendar layer using a soft brush in soft light mode with a low opacity. Mask off any part of the banner that belongs behind the subject. This is perfect for use with your newborn bed prop. Use it in combination with our clock/night stand and our hanging chalkboard and to tastefully display all of the newborn stats in one photo.
The Build a Chalkboard Kit comes with everything you need to quickly put together a chalkboard with a custom message in the color of your choosing . Hang your customized chalkboard on a newborn bed prop to create a set that announces baby's Name, weight and height. This kit is very easy to use. All the files are exactly the same size and layer on top of each other perfectly. So be sure you don't re-size any files! In fact you should probably save a back up somewhere just in case. The files are also numbered to keep you from placing a layer out of order. Start by opening one of the chalkboard files. If you want to change the color drag in the chalkboard color fill file and rasterize the layer. Then select the area to be filled (hold the control key while clicking on the rectangle next to the color fill layer in the layers panel). Select the color you want to use and use the paint bucket to change the color of the layer. Change the mode of the layer to the look you desire. I like Multiply, Soft Light and Overlay. Drag in a texture layer if you you like and adjust the opacity and mode in the layers panel to your liking (I like Multiply, Soft Light and Overlay for this too). Add the desired text to your chalk board. There are plenty of Chalk Text Effect tutorials on YouTube.com. However, the chalkboard is usually a pretty small piece of my photo, so changing the text layer to dissolve mode and adding a slight Gaussian blur usually does the trick just fine. Save your image as a .png file. Then drag your saved .png file into your image. Add a shadow layer beneath it using a soft brush in soft light mode with a very low opacity. Wow your newborn parents by using this in combination with the Calendar and Nightstand/Alarm Clock Kits to tastefully display all of babies birth stats in your image. Or have your clients hold a piece of cardboard and replace it in post production with a chalk board that matches their outfit and displays a personal message.
These adorable teddy slippers are the perfect little detail to accessorize your newborn bed set. Simply drop the file into your image of your tiny newborn client asleep in your beautiful newborn bed set, and burn the appropriate shadowing around it. It’s a great starter product for you to practice adding digital accessories to your images.
The Build a Nightstand/Alarm Clock Stump Kit comes with everything you need to quickly put together a woodland stump nightstand and alarm clock (with a custom time displayed) in the color of your choosing . Place your customized stump nightstand and alarm clock next to a newborn bed prop to create a woodland set that announces baby’s time of birth in your photo. This kit is very easy to use. All the files are exactly the same size and layer on top of each other perfectly. So be sure you don’t re-size any files! In fact you should probably save a back up somewhere just in case. The files are also numbered to keep you from placing a layer out of order. Start by opening one of the stump night stands in a new file. Then add the appropriate Clock Shadow file, followed by the clock. If you want to change the color of the clock drag in the clock’s color fill layer and rasterize the layer. Then hold the control key while clicking on the rectangle next to the color fill layer in the layers panel to select the area to be filled. Select the color you want to use and use the paint bucket to change the color of the layer. Change the mode of the layer to the look you desire. I like the Color Burn, Linear Light and Vivid Light modes for the clock color. Drag in the clock hand shadows, and clock hands. Use the transform tool (Ctrl T, then right click and select rotate) to move the hands and shadows to the desired position on the clock. Drag in the brass center button file and save your image as a .png file. Then drag your saved .png file into your image. Add a shadow layer beneath it using a soft brush in soft light mode with a very low opacity. Use this in combination with the Calendar and Chalkboard Kits to tastefully display all of baby’s birth stats in your image. New mom’s love this!
